Bacteria or biofilm in water pipes are among the most difficult problems, especially in the drinking water sector. Since they are living organisms, the approach to kill them quickly comes up for discussion, either with chemicals or with UV irradiation. Both can be problematic. The use of toxic chemicals in drinking water is understandably something you want to avoid whenever possible, even in animal agriculture this method is not at all ideal. UV irradiation, on the other hand, does not put chemicals into the water, but it does leave behind killed bacteria, which can now become the cause of toxic substances themselves, with the development of endotoxins. Another problem with UV radiation is that it loses its effectiveness when the water is turbid, and unfortunately bacteria often arrive with turbid water.

The approach of AQUA4D® is different: by breaking down and preventing lime and rust deposits, bacteria are deprived of the habitat for their development. Since this environmentally friendly water treatment also removes the biofilm in the pipes, bacteria cannot multiply. After all, the problem is not the drinking water supplied, which is flawless, and if anything, contains so few bacteria that they pose no health problems whatsoever. If you do have bacteria or biofilm problems, they usually first develop in pipes with sediment, which is both a nutrient and a habitat for the bacteria.
