Andreas Stricker, 1st investor in AQUA4D

Eric Valette, CEO AQUA4D

Walter Thut, inventor of AQUA4D

In 2004, Planet Horizons Technologies SA was founded as a small start-up by 3 engineers, Mr. Walter Thut, first CEO, today responsible for special projects in the company, Dr. Eric Valette, Managing Director since 2014, and Mr. Nicolas Masserey, responsible for production and development of the AQUA4D® technology.

In the meantime, AQUA4D has established a presence in over 40 countries. Especially in the field of agriculture, where most drinking water is still needed for irrigation and thus our technology can have the greatest impact against worldwide water shortages.

The path of this technology and our company has been turbulent, with enough twists and turns for an exciting novel. The scientific principles developed at the beginning enticed the engineers to work on all kinds of applications. Among other things, lakes were freed from algae, which created a lot of media interest at the time. Together with universities and the FOEN, a project was successfully implemented in a sewage treatment plant. After many experimental installations, the focus was finally placed on the application areas of buildings and agriculture, in order to concentrate forces on two of the most important areas for a sustainable future.

Whole series of successful university projects finally created an acceptance for this technologically leading physical water treatment. Gradually, in addition to countless private customers, large customers such as the Basel chemical companies or some of the world’s largest vegetable and fruit producers followed suit.

The company has gone from strength to strength, and in 2021 continues to innovate and expand its technology, helping sustainable transitions in various industries.

The webinar will address topics including the following:

  • – How did Walter Thut get the idea to develop such a technology in the first place?
  • – As a researcher at a university, Eric Valette was convinced that this technology would be crucial for future problem solving. How could he have foreseen this?
  • – Andreas Stricker, an expert in banking, was the first investor and is still on the board of directors today. The reasons for his early and long-term support of this technologist are certainly very revealing and highly interesting for outsiders.
  • – The challenges of introducing a completely new technology into a traditional industry such as agriculture or construction.
  • – The balancing act between permanent technical development and the need to generate and increase sales as quickly as possible.
  • – North/South America, Asia, Europe or Africa, or even in Switzerland; where do the founders and pioneers see the best future opportunities for the use of AQUA4D® technology?
  • The discussion is led by Markus Schwery, Head of Technical Support at AQUA4D
  • – Walter Thut, inventor and co-founder of the company
  • – Eric Valette, CEO and co-founder of AQUA4D
  • – Andreas Stricker, banker and first investor

The sixth webinar will take place on Tuesday, 17 August 2021 from 13:30 to 14:30.

The topic: “From a small start-up to an international company: the story of a game-changing technology.”

You are cordially invited to attend this 6th AQUA4D webinar, free of charge naturally. You are welcome to ask questions or suggest topics at any time.
